A dream has come true after all... After years of hassling anybody who cared (or not) with stories about living and working in Canada we finally made it! (Apologies to anyone who had to listen...) We are leaving for Edmonton!
After long negotiations, sad incidents and delays I finally (and unexpectedly) received an offer to work for A.D. Williams Engineering (http://adwilliams.com), a well known and respected Engineering company in Downtown Edmonton, which I gladly took. I especially wanted to thank Santiago Gomez, whose relentless efforts made this whole thing happen.
My thanks go also to the company's president Reagan Williams and HR Manager Sarah Burkhard to go through all the trouble in bringing me over.
I also wanted to thank Arjuna Ranasinghe of Unison HR (http://www.unisonhr.com) who assisted me in getting this great job and coming to Canada. By the way, he would be looking for some IT guys and skilled workers who share my dream. Go to their website or mail him at aranasinghe@unisonhr.com and tell him I sent you...
Wow, this sounds a bit like some of those dreadful Oscar speeches. Somebody please stop me!
I'll blog on my experiences with immigrating to Canada and starting a new life in Edmonton and at ADWE over the next couple of weeks and I will post some helpful links, insights, rants and images anytime I've got some news to share. Comments and Requests are welcome
And to all my colleagues, friends and relatives: visit us as soon as we are settled in our new lives - details will follow.
